Deep down, you know something in your life needs to change, but every possible next step feels so overwhelming that staying where you are somehow feels easier.

What if the most important decision you make isn't what comes next, but whether you give yourself permission to pause before deciding?

If you're here, it's probably because you've reached a point where you know something in your life needs to change.

Maybe it's a career that no longer feels right. A relationship, a dream, or a version of yourself you've quietly outgrown. Or maybe it's simply the feeling that something in your life no longer feels aligned, even if you can't quite explain why.

What makes this so difficult isn't knowing that something needs to change. It's knowing how to move forward. When every possible next step feels overwhelming, it's easy to find yourself stuck between the life you've outgrown and the one you haven't stepped into yet.

Some people wait, hoping the right moment will eventually come. Others rush into a decision simply to escape the discomfort of uncertainty.

The truth is, meaningful change rarely comes from waiting for the perfect moment or rushing into a decision before you're ready. It begins by creating the space to understand yourself before deciding what comes next.

The Power of an Intentional Pause

I know how difficult it can be to give yourself permission to pause when everything in you wants to know what comes next, because before I ever guided others through this process, I had to learn how to navigate that uncertainty myself.

Most people feel pressure to figure out what's next as quickly as possible. But some of life's biggest decisions aren't meant to be rushed.

The hardest part is often allowing yourself to pause at all. When everything in you wants an answer, slowing down can feel like you're falling behind. But without creating that space, it's easy to keep making decisions from the same fear, pressure, and expectations you've been carrying.

An intentional pause gives you the space to understand yourself before deciding what's next.

Sometimes, the way forward starts by choosing not to rush forward at all.

That's exactly what The Intentional Pause™ was created for.

The Journey That Inspired The Intentional Pause™

While my coaching is backed by professional training, it’s also deeply rooted in lived experience.

Before I became a coach, I thought I had my life figured out.

For years, I dreamed of becoming a doctor. It wasn’t just a career, it was the future I’d spent years working toward. Walking away from that dream meant letting go of an identity I’d built my life around, and for the first time, I had no idea what came next.

So I did something that felt completely backwards. I gave myself permission to put my life on pause.

What happened during that pause eventually helped me find clarity, reconnect with what I wanted, and choose a new direction. That experience became the inspiration behind The Intentional Pause™.

What My Own Intentional Pause Looked Like

Once I stopped forcing myself to figure everything out immediately, my own path forward began to unfold. Looking back, I can see five parts of the process that helped me move from uncertainty to a direction that felt right for me.

1. Pause

I stopped forcing myself to have an immediate answer and gave myself permission to slow down.

2. Process

I made space for everything I was feeling, questioning, grieving, and beginning to realize.

3. Reconnect

I started separating what I actually wanted from the expectations and identity I had carried for years.

4. Realign

I began imagining a direction that felt more aligned with the person I had become and the life I wanted.

5. Move Forward

Once I had more clarity, I started taking intentional steps toward that new direction.

This was my path. Yours may look completely different.

This is the path that helped me through my life transition, but it isn't a formula for yours. You may experience some of these same stages, move through them in a different order, or discover a path that looks nothing like mine.

But there is one place where our paths will meet: the pause.

No matter what your transition looks like, we'll begin by creating enough space for you to stop forcing an answer and start understanding what is actually happening within you. And you won't have to navigate what comes next alone.

We’ll uncover your path together.

My role as your coach is to listen closely, notice patterns in how you think and experience your world, and ask thoughtful questions that help us uncover what your path forward looks like.

And while your path may look different from mine, I know how hard it is to be in that uncertain space where you no longer know what comes next. I’ve been there too, and I know how much courage it can take to find your own way forward.

Your process will be shaped around you, with someone beside you who understands just how difficult that process can be.

Meet the Coach

While my own life transition inspired The Intentional Pause™, my coaching is also backed by professional training. I'm an Erickson-trained Professional Coach, having completed the Level 2 Art & Science of Coaching, an ICF-accredited coach training program, and I hold a B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology. Together, these experiences shape a coaching approach that combines thoughtful reflection with a structured, evidence-informed process designed to help you move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.

Outside of coaching, I’m a Notion template creator, productivity enthusiast, and someone who genuinely loves meaningful conversations. I’m fully fluent in both English and Spanish, happily married to a wonderful husband, and a fun fact about me is that I can sing, so there’s a very good chance you’ll find me putting on a full concert in my apartment.

At the heart of everything I do is a genuine desire to understand people, create meaningful connections, and help others move through life with greater clarity and intention.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

  • "Starting a new position during the busiest time of year left me feeling overwhelmed and disorganized—completely out of my usual rhythm. I knew I needed better systems, focus, and direction. Working with Melitza was an incredible experience. Through thoughtful conversations and practical exercises, she helped me get to the root of my challenges and explore realistic solutions. Each session left me motivated to take action and build on my progress."

  • "When I began, I didn’t even know where to start. By the end, I had clarity, confidence, and tools to handle future challenges on my own. Mel didn’t hand me answers—she listened, asked the right questions, and guided me to find my own. I learned a lot about myself along the way, and the whole coaching process was both insightful and enjoyable."

Questions You May Have

Do I need to know exactly what I want before reaching out?

Not at all. The Intentional Pause™ is designed for seasons when you know something needs to change, but you may not yet understand what you want or what your next step should be. You can come to our first conversation exactly where you are.

What if I’m not sure whether my situation counts as a life transition?

A life transition does not always begin with one obvious event. You may be questioning your career, identity, priorities, relationships, or the direction of your life. You may simply feel that the life you're living is no longer aligned with who you are. We can talk about what you’re experiencing during the call and determine whether this program could support you.

What happens during the free Connection Call?

This free 30-minute call gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss what you’re currently navigating, and explore whether The Intentional Pause™ feels like the right fit. You’ll also have time to ask any questions you have about the program.

Will you tell me what decision I should make?

No. My role is not to make decisions for you or tell you how to live your life. Through thoughtful questions, reflection, and guided coaching, I’ll help you understand yourself more deeply and uncover a direction you can genuinely trust.

Will I be expected to make a decision during the call?

No. This is an informational conversation, and you will not be expected to decide during the call. The purpose is to give you the information you need and allow both of us to determine whether working together feels like the right fit.

What if I’m interested but still have questions about the program?

That is exactly what the free Connection Call is for. You are welcome to bring any questions about the coaching process, weekly sessions, Notion journal, payment options, or what working together would look like.
